Voicemail

If you dial in your extension and hear "Sorry, mailbox has no assignment" but you have definitely dialed your extension, then your extension may not have been initialized with a voicemail box at installation. This is easily corrected in the system programming. Contact your system installer or email tech support.
To change the default voicemail access password you need to access the supervisor menu. If you dial into the M2 Technology System to the voicemail menu or the auto-attendant menu, interrupt it by dialing your Supervisor Access Code. You should hear the system greet you with "Good morning/afternoon". At this stage dial 0 and then 2 to choose the Voicemail password, then follow voice prompts.
WARNING: Unknown passwords can only be re-set by system programming and charges will apply. It is recommended that your IT department keep a record of any password changes.
Default codes are in your User Guide, or email tech support.

By default your personal voicemail password is a four-digit string ending in your extension number with the other digits set to 9. For example extension 34 will have password 9934 and extension 227 will have password 9227. Note: if extension 53 and 54 are programmed to share the same voicemail box - 53, then the password for both extensions will be 9953.
NOTE 5 digit strings are unable to have a password set.
We can reset your password to its default value remotely. Email tech support.

Under normal circumstances, your telephone handset can be set to “call forward to voicemail on busy or no answer”. There is often a button pre-set on your handset. Consult your telephone manual for the call forward codes, or speak with your telephone system supplier for assistance.

If you have direct in-dial to your handset, call your number to access your messages.
Alternatively, dial the business number and when the night/weekend message answers, dial your Voicemail Box Access Code then enter your extension and (if asked) your password.

This could be because the maximum time of voicemail messages is reached. The parameter can be set to a greater value if needed. Default is 120 seconds. Ask your installer for assistance or email tech support.

Ring yourself and leave a test voicemail message and then delete.

If you set the password to **** (4 stars), you effectively remove the password from that voicemail box. Only the extension number will be asked for.
